Following our pleasant stroll to Hell’s Lum the previous week, Roberta and I set off to walk the Corryhully Horshoe at Glenfinnan on 7th August 2004. Although a very enjoyable walk, this turned out to be a bit more strenuous and eventful day out.

On 30th December 2003 Derek Easson, Pat Cook, Alice Bailey and myself set off from Glen Banchor in Newtonmore for a Ski Tour in the Monadhliaths. The temperature was about minus 13 but there was glorious sunshine and no wind.

Each June a diverse group of freinds get together for an annual hillwalking weekend (usually accompanied by a few refreshments and the occasional game of cards.) The 2004 outing, which we think was the 20th Anniversary, was to the Arrocher Alps.

During the Middle of August we finally got some decent sailing weather at Loch Morlich on Thursday 12th August 04 Grace Gavin & I introduced some workmates to the pleasures (or terrors!) of sailing. And over the following weekend some of the “old” brigade of the Spey Valley Sailing Club even managed to get back into some club racing.

Here are a few pictures taken during our group’s Annual Ski Trip. Don’t be fooled by the sunshine, most days were poor visibility (but good skiing) and the Camera stayed in its bag

On 1st July 2004 a group of colleagues from the Nairnshire Area of Highland Council had an afternoons rafting at Invergarry, An extremely wet and enjoyable time was had by all.

Each September group of us from the Spey Valley Sailing Club take a trip over to Gairloch to take part in the Old Inn Challenge, an inter club dinghy regatta which is always eventful.

On 14th February 2004 Roberta and I cycled from Drumguish to Gaick Lodge then walked up the stalkers path to the south of Coire Bhothain

A bright and sunny morning on 1st August 2004 persuaded us to head for the hills. As we hadn’t been doing much hillwalking recently we set off for a relatively short walk from Cairngorm Ski Area to to Hell’s Lum, a spectacular crag overlooking Loch Avon
