On 30th December 2003 Derek Easson, Pat Cook, Alice Bailey and myself set off from Glen Banchor in Newtonmore for a Ski Tour in the Monadhliaths. The temperature was about minus 13 but there was glorious sunshine and no wind.
A combination of soft snow, dodgy river crossings and not enough glue to keep our skins attached to our skis meant that the climb was incredibly slow, however, this gave us the unexpected bonus of starting our descent as the sun was setting, eventually skiing back to the car by moonlight.
